SOG Ninja Tactical Daypack Backpack

The SOG Ninja Tactical Daypack Backpack performed admirably out on the trails. I carried it on a number of hikes ranging from one to seven miles, with a variety of loads. One time I just tossed in six water bottles, a can of Deep Woods OFF!, my knife, and some power bars, and even with that awkward, jumbled load I never felt too uncomfortable with it on my back.

While I’ve had many personal favorites over the years, the SOG Ninja Tactical Daypack Backpack really ranks up there as one of the better all-around packs that I’ve enjoyed using. Whether exploring local trails or going for a weekend camping trip or taking a road trip to visit friends, this pack has been solid for me.

This fully modular, water repellent pack has one large main compartment for gear, a soft lined sunglasses or electronic device pocket, a small accessory pocket for flat item storage, and a zippered front organizer pocket. It is hydration compatible and has left and right hose ports.

The bottom of the pack features 2 grommeted drain holes, plus four points to attach a sleeping bag or roll. A contoured foam back with multiple air channels combined with airy mesh enhances air flow to help prevent heat build-up and sweating. Side compression straps give the pack a compact look when fully loaded.

SOG Ninja Tactical Daypack Backpack

The SOG Ninja Tactical Daypack Backpack is sensibly designed and appropriately rugged. The daypack material is thick enough to give a degree of protection against rain, but as mentioned earlier you don’t want to push it. But if you do push it, the designers made sure to put drainage holes in the bottom to make sure your stuff won’t sit in a waterlogged compartment.

Pros:

Exceptional return on investment for the average cost.

Outstanding materials used in construction.

Good size for a “small” or “basic” backpack.

High-quality polyester.

Versatile packs.

Cons:

Zippers and straps can be a little bit stiff at the beginning.
