Question: Are the soles glued down inside the boot/shoe?
Answer: The soles are glued and stitched in. You can also can easily take the cushion out and add another in it. It’s a nicely crafted shoe that is water resistant and comfortable. I wore them in the snow and they kept my feet dry and warm. They also have good tread to prevent a lot of slidding.
Question: Anyone use these as workboots?
Answer: That is why I bought these. They are durable and waterproof. I have walked into water up to half way up the boot with no seepage. Comfortable, flexible.
Question: Should these shoes be treated with mink oil right out of the box, or after wearing some? (wouldn’t they be pretreated when new?)
Answer: All Timberland boots arrive waterproof from the factory. It’s best to apply 1-2 coats of Timberland’s own spray when you first get your boots. I live in New Hampshire and apply 1 coat every fall in advance of winter. NOTE: Mink oil works well on leathers that have not been been waterproofed at the factory. Stick to the spray for Timberland boots.
Question: How long would they last doing hvac ?
Answer: My husband does maintenance indoor & outside….he is rough on shoes. They last him about 6 months. He really likes these boot.
Question: What is the actual weight of these shoes? Thanks
Answer: Weight is subjective…depends on size. I wear size 14 and I’m sure they weight twice as much as a small mans size.
