Coleman Dome Tent With Screen Room

When picking the best tent with screen porch, the brand you buy matters. As we’ll see, Coleman Dome Tent With Screen Room is one of the top companies in the industry, and we’ll see this name come up a lot on this list. We like this particular Cabin Camping Tent because it repels rain better than most other models with a screen room.

Typically, the most significant issue with screen rooms is that they allow rain to come in easily. Many of these tents don’t have a rainfly extending past the opening, so the screen room can easily get wet. Unfortunately, that water can then get into the main room. Thankfully, this Coleman tent has an extra-large rainfly, so you don’t have to worry about this problem. You can also seal the fly to enclose the screen room entirely.

Another reason we like this tent is that it’s pretty spacious inside. Coleman designed the interior to have straight walls, so most campers should be able to stand up with no issues. Even better, you can fit two queen-sized air mattresses inside and have space for your gear. Finally, you can get this tent up and running in about 10 minutes.

The tent is made from 75D polyester taffeta – a waterproof fabric – and its strong frame has been tested to withstand 35+ mph winds.

Its WeatherTec system with patented welded floors and inverted seams to keep you dry. The tent has 4 large windows and a well-designed rainfly to keep the rain out whilst still providing great ventilation.

FAQ

Q: I don’t know what the size of the dome is.

A: I’m not sure if the dome would fit 6 people, but if it helps, it will fit 4 single mattresses or 2 double matresses or 5 mats.

Q: How big of a tarp would I need if I was going to lay a tarp down first before setting the tent up?

A: I’m really excited about camping for the first time, my tent will be arriving soon, and I’ll be able to fold and tuck under the tent if my tarp is larger than the tent.

Q: Does this make it too cold for kids to sleep inside on cold mountain mornings?

A: The kids will be fine if the bags with lightweight blankets are provided.

Q: It is hard to tell from the pictures if the screened in portion of the tent has zip up flaps in case it rains.

A: No but you can get heavy duty small binder clips in the hardware store and plastic sheeting also in the paint section and cut it to size for outside and binder clip away until you figure out exactly how you want your porch door to open.

Q: I’m trying to figure out the interior sleeping dimensions of the Evanston 6 and 8.

A: The sleeping area for the 6-person is 10 x 10 ft. and the 8-person is 12 x 12 ft.
